WEBINAR: Mental Toughness and Youth Work A Comprehensive Approach

May 9 @ 14:00 - 15:00 UTC+1

This live webinar will be in partnership with Ambition. Ambition is a leading national body and youth charity that sits at the heart of a network of organisations working with young people across the country.

The second webinar in the series will explain a comprehensive approach that develops aspirations, performance and positive behaviours.

The first webinar in the series provided a brief introduction to mental toughness and the 4Cs framework and its application within youth work, illustrated with a brief overview of two case studies. This session will look at how the assessment of mental toughness can then be applied to develop performance, wellbeing and positive behaviour in young people.

Research and case studies show that understanding, assessing and developing Mental Toughness in young people is valuable and highly effective. As well as improving wellbeing and a positive mindset studies show that developing mental toughness can impact on:

  • Better Attainment
  • Aspirations
  • Behaviour
  • Better retention – lower drop out on programmes
  • Improved Attendance
  • Employability
  • Engagement – in voluntary and social activity

This session includes:

  • Introduce a comprehensive approach to developing mental toughness and a positive mindset
  • Examine how you can apply interventions to develop mental toughness
  • Describe approaches and tools and techniques used in developing mental toughness in young people.
  • Explore relevant case studies in greater depth

This session is relevant to any individual or organisation working with young people at any age and in any circumstances
