MTQPlus and the Mental Toughness Concept – Bringing another dimension to people and organisation development.
The mental toughness concept and the MTQPlus bring thought leadership and innovation to understanding how people (and teams) respond to events.
Very well evidenced, they provide powerful tools to practitioners to enable them to explore the complexity of human nature.
Mental Toughness consists of 8 independent factors. Each contributes uniquely to our mental approach towards change, challenge, opportunity, and adversity – all that life and work throw at us.
Putting human nature into perspective, there are over 40,000 possible combinations of those 8 factors — more, given that each factor has levels.
This enables us to understand, in detail, WHY people behave the way they do. At a level not possible through most measures – certainly, those that are ipsative. Many tests simplify their offering to create, at best, a superficial approach to understanding people.
We are not 4 colours, or strong/weak or even 16 types.
It is one of the most important determinants of behaviour and emotional responses.
To optimise, we need to understand “how we think when things happen.”
This is what the MTQPlus and the mental toughness concept enables.
Fundamentally important for anyone helping people to be the best that they can be, coaches, consultants and trainers, this enables true customisation.
