Whilst philosopher Rene Descartes wasn’t directly referring to mental toughness with his famous proposition “I think; Therefore I am” he actually describes the most direct and effective way of becoming so.

By making a decision to be mentally tougher you will become so if you have the resolve to leave passive and negative thoughts behind.

The decision alone is enough because you build a boundary wall in your mind beyond which the enemy, the coalition of negativity, doubt and fear, cannot pass.

If you think you are mentally tougher for long enough and hard enough then you become mentally tougher.
